This workshop aims to explore forms and functions of slavery represented in textual sources from the early-Islamic empire, ca. 600-1000 CE. Find more information here.
Due to Covid-19 meetings will take place virtually at a small scale in December to discuss progress and the contents of the intended publication. In 2021 a meeting will take place in Leiden where pre-circulated papers will be discussed to facilitate prompt publication.
